Middle Division Students and Faculty Donate Over 120 Backpacks to Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative

Throughout January and February, Middle Division students organized a division-wide relief drive called Berkeley Gives Back. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders brought in critically needed items, such as toothbrushes, deodorant, and rain gear, and the Middle Division faculty baked and sold tasty treats to raise money to purchase backpacks and additional items for those experiencing homelessness.

In the end, members of the Community and Service Team Leadership Experience were proud to present Antoinette D. Hayes-Triplett, CEO of the Tampa Hillsborough Homeless Initiative, a backpack—symbolic of the 120 backpacks we were able to donate to the organization.
